Sa Haus.

A new family home utilising 21st Century design and building techniques.

We were commissioned by Sunita and Satyajit to create a unique and captivating new family home on their plot utilising 21st Century design and building techniques to deliver a unique living experience. The desire was to create a subtle new dwelling that has a feeling of solidity and permanence and therefore the proposed material palette has been chosen to reflect this with a brick ground floor and light rendered walls above. The house benefits from a highly insulated thermal envelope, passive cooling and a photovoltaic array on the main roof that connects back to battery storage and a car charging point.

The house was constructed using Nudura insulated concrete forms which provide exceptional thermal performance and air tightness together with a far more speedy construction process.

As shown in the data below each year the home saves 2,472.5 kg of CO2 emissions via the use of the energy that is generated on site via solar panels on the central flat roof that power the home and a family electric car.

AV Architects continued love affair with staircases.

The staircase at this home is a thing of wonder. The oak-clad staircase and screen that rise up through the whole building took a great deal of design development and craftsmanship on site. The end results are truly spectacular.
